Port Arthur Massacre resources

On 28th April 1996 a lone gunman killed 35 people and wounded 23 others at the Port Arthur historic site in Tasmania. The gunman was Martin Bryant, a mentally ill Hobart man, who received a life sentence with no chance of parole. Following the massacre, Prime Minister John Howard introduced strict gun control laws.
