Where to look for sources
Internet sources Sweetsearch is a search engine designed to give results that are relevant to students. If you need Australian websites add site:.au to your search. Scholarly articles Google Scholar is a place to find scholarly articles (articles written by a professional to investigate a very specific question), which are a good source for this task. To limit your search to (mostly) free articles, uncheck the 'include patents' and 'include citations' boxes on the left of the search results, and add filetype:pdf -book to your search. If you haven't used scholarly articles before and aren't sure about them, we have a guide to using scholarly articles. If you are a member of your local library you can register your card to access more scholarly articles on their databases. We have instructions for using the State Library databases. News stories There are a number of freely available, good quality news sources where you can find media articles. ABC News The Guardian Australia Sydney Morning Herald Australian Financial Review The Conversation - Articles written by academics in a journalistic style.
